Description
Bay Area Funk 2 (Funk And Soul From San Francisco, Oakland And The Bay Area) is a 2LP deep-dig compilation spotlighting rare and independent funk and soul recordings from Northern California’s rich musical history. Drawing from San Francisco, Oakland, and the wider Bay Area, the collection captures a regional sound defined by heavy grooves, raw production, and street-level soul.
Pressed on vinyl in 2006, this compilation feels right at home on wax. The analogue format enhances the grit of the rhythm sections, the warmth of the horns, and the punch of the drums. Essential qualities in vintage funk and soul recordings originally designed for 45s and local pressings.
Featuring hard-to-find cuts and overlooked gems, Bay Area Funk 2 serves both DJs and collectors, offering dancefloor-ready material alongside historically significant regional recordings. It stands as a strong document of independent West Coast funk culture and a crate-worthy addition for serious soul heads.

Each record is visually inspected and graded conservatively to reflect its true condition, so you know exactly what you’re buying.
Grades range from Mint (M) to Poor (P), with detailed descriptions based on surface condition, wear, and play quality.
