Pegz
Limited Edition Black Vinyl
Chechen Gorilla is a defining early release from Pegz, capturing the raw intensity and uncompromising attitude of Australian underground hip hop in the early 2000s. Issued as a 12" vinyl single, this release stands as a snapshot of Pegz at his most direct. Sharp lyricism, dark humour, and hard-edged delivery over gritty boom-bap production.
Released in 2005, this pressing was strictly limited to just 300 copies, released at a time when Australian hip hop was rarely pressed on vinyl, making it an exceptionally scarce and historically important item. Small-run 12" singles like this were often produced for DJs and core supporters, and surviving copies are now highly sought after by collectors.
Pressed on vinyl on Obese Records, Chechen Gorilla delivers maximum impact, with the analog format amplifying its low-end punch and vocal presence. Today, it remains a true Australian hip hop vinyl grail, representing both Pegz’s early career and a formative era in the local scene.
We grade all records using the Goldmine Standard, the most widely accepted grading system for vinyl worldwide.
Each record is visually inspected and graded conservatively to reflect its true condition, so you know exactly what you’re buying.
Grades range from Mint (M) to Poor (P), with detailed descriptions based on surface condition, wear, and play quality.
